Your Day Trip Itinerary

9:00AM — Meet Your UpClose Belize Driver

Your driver will arrive to pick you up at the front door of your accommodation anywhere in Belize City. Pickup at terminal locations is also included for guests arriving from the island including San Pedro, Ambergris Caye, Caye Caulker, St. George’s Caye, Shaka Caye and many others! The 90-minute drive takes you through the old colonial Haulover Bridge district and into the lush citrus and tropical jungle along the Hummingbird Highway.

10:30 AM — Green Acres Jungle Horseback Ranch

Arrive at Green Acres Ranch, a premier destination for authentic Belizean horsemanship and ecological exploration. This family-managed ranch serves as a gateway to the country’s vibrant interior, where the focus is on sustainable interaction with the land. Your adventure begins with a professional safety briefing and horse pairing, designed to match your skill level with one of our well-trained horses. As you mount up and head into the jungle trails, you’ll experience the rainforest from a unique vantage point, observing exotic tropical flora and native wildlife in a tranquil, motor-free environment. Restroom and changing facilities are available at the ranch to ensure you are comfortable before we hit the trails.

1:00 PM — Refresh & Recharge: The Inland Blue Hole Swim

On our return journey, we make a quintessential Belizean stop at St. Herman’s Blue Hole National Park. Tucked away beneath a canopy of towering trees and limestone cliffs, this sapphire-colored cenote is formed by an underground river rising to the surface. The cool, crystal-clear water is the perfect antidote to the tropical heat after your jungle trek. Take a refreshing dip in the natural pool, enjoy the serene rainforest acoustics, and capture photos of one of the most iconic roadside wonders on the Hummingbird Highway.

3:30 PM — Belize City Return

Arrive back in the city for drop off at your desired location anywhere within the city limits.

Lunch Stop – An optional lunch stop is available on request. The cost of lunch is not included.

Yes! We are a family-friendly ranch. We have horses suitable for children, and for younger riders, our guides can provide "lead-line" assistance to ensure they stay safe and enjoy the jungle scenery.  Babies are welcome to join in a kangaroo pouch, and little ones ride their own horse.

For the best experience, we recommend lightweight long pants (to prevent chafing) and closed-toe shoes (sneakers or boots). Don’t forget to wear your swimsuit underneath or pack one for the Inland Blue Hole swim!

Unlike the Great Blue Hole in the ocean, the Inland Blue Hole at St. Herman’s National Park is a natural turquoise sinkhole fed by an underground river. It is a refreshing, shaded swimming spot surrounded by rainforest.

To ensure the health and comfort of our horses, we have a standard weight limit of 230 lbs (104 kg) per rider.

While wildlife sightings are never guaranteed, our trails are home to iguanas, tropical birds, like Toucans, Laughing Falcon, Mot-Mot, Kingfishers, and various native flora. Riding a horse allows for a quiet approach, often resulting in better nature viewing than motorized tours.

We ride rain or shine! A light tropical rain can actually enhance the jungle experience. Rainy days mean the waterfall is gushing with water and makes for an awesome swim stop with great photos! However, in the event of severe weather or unsafe trail conditions, we will contact you to reschedule or provide a refund.

Green Acres Ranch is centrally located near the Hummingbird Highway, making it a convenient stop for travelers moving between Belize City (just 90 minutes from the city), San Ignacio, or the southern coast (Hopkins/Placencia).
